THE MOONSHINE
Taste Appalachia
Kentucky moonshine. It’s flavorful, it’s smooth, and it has a deep-rooted history in our region.
As you may know, moonshine was originally used as a slang term for an illegally distilled spirit. During the prohibition era it was primarily produced right here in Appalachia. Today, moonshine is still a favorite – now legal – beverage in our region and is one of the many popular ways to “taste” the Appalachian Mountains.
At the festival, you’ll have the opportunity to taste and purchase delicious Appalachian moonshine as you take a journey through our region’s heritage.
